Website redesign for businesses: faster, more leads, and no lost Google rankings
I redesign and rebuild websites that look dated, load slowly, or don't bring in enquiries, while keeping your URLs, content, and Google rankings. Most redesigns cost $7,000–28,000 and take 3–16 weeks.

Pricing
How much a website redesign costs
Freelance prices in US dollars. A redesign that keeps your existing pages and content costs much less than a brand new site. The price depends on how many page layouts change and whether the content needs rewriting.
| Type | Price | Timeline | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Homepage redesign | $4,000–9,000 | 2–4 weeks | A new homepage that matches what you sell today. The rest of the site stays as it is. |
| New design on your existing pages | $7,000–18,000 | 3–6 weeks | New templates for every page, same URLs and content, faster technology underneath. Your rankings carry over. |
| Redesign with several new layouts | $14,000–28,000 | 6–16 weeks | New page types (case studies, team, long service pages), a CMS, and a full speed and SEO pass. Same URLs. |
Real examples: an executive search website with 100 articles and 80 podcast episodes cost $25,000 over 5 weeks. A 120-page aviation website cost $16,000 over 12 weeks. If you need a completely new site with new pages and structure, see custom website pricing.
Approach
How I redesign a website without losing what works
Most redesigns fail in one of two ways: they look new but lose Google rankings, or they cost as much as a new site because everything gets thrown out. I start by finding out what's already working and keep it.
Review what you have
Which pages bring in traffic and enquiries, how fast the site loads, and what's broken. That tells us what to keep, what to fix, and what to replace.
Keep your URLs and rankings
Pages that rank keep their addresses. Anything that has to move gets a permanent redirect, so Google and old links still find it.
Redesign around enquiries
Clear services, trust signals where people decide, and a contact or booking step that's always one tap away on a phone.
Rebuild it fast
Modern, fast technology underneath, with images, scripts, and caching done properly. Most of my redesigns load in under a second.

Difference
What goes into the build
More leads, not just a new look
An executive search consultant went from 7 to 20 enquiries in the first month after their new site launched. A vet clinic went from about 20 to 120 bookings a week.
Much faster pages
A 120-page aviation site went from 8 seconds to 676ms, and its heaviest pages from 12MB to 800KB, without removing a single image.
Your rankings are protected
Existing URLs stay, redirects cover anything that moves, and SEO is rebuilt into every template. The goal is to rank better after launch, not start over.
No downtime
The current site stays live while the new one is built, and your contact form keeps working the whole time.

Process
How a project works
- 01
Review your current site
Traffic, rankings, speed, and where visitors drop off. You get a short written summary of what to keep and what to change, with a price range and timeline.
- 02
Design
New layouts for your key pages. You approve them before the full build starts.
- 03
Rebuild
Every page rebuilt on fast technology, with URLs mapped and redirects ready. Your current site stays live throughout.
- 04
Launch and check
The new site goes live, redirects are tested, and Search Console is checked so rankings carry over. Then we measure enquiries against the old site.

FAQs
How much does a website redesign cost?
With me, most redesigns cost $7,000–28,000. A homepage-only redesign is $4,000–9,000. New templates on your existing pages are $7,000–18,000, and a redesign with several new page layouts is $14,000–28,000. A completely new site is priced as a custom website.
How long does a website redesign take?
Three to six weeks when the content and URLs stay the same. Six to sixteen weeks when there are several new layouts or a lot of pages. Waiting for new photos or copy adds time before the build starts.
Will I lose my Google rankings after a redesign?
Not if it's done carefully. Keep the URLs of pages that rank, redirect anything that moves with a permanent 301 redirect, keep the content that ranks, and check Search Console after launch. Rankings usually hold, and faster pages often improve them.
Should I redesign my website or start over?
Redesign if your pages already rank and your content still describes what you sell. Start over if the business has changed, the content is wrong, or the site barely gets traffic anyway. I'll tell you which after reviewing the current site.
Can you move my site off WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace?
Yes. I move the content, keep the URLs that matter, and rebuild the site on fast custom technology. If WordPress still suits your team, I'll say so. Not every site needs to move.
Will my website go down during the redesign?
No. The current site stays live until the new one is ready and tested. Your contact forms and booking keep working the whole time.
